{Peppermint} Play Dough

Today’s activity on our Advent Calendar.

Lincoln was very excited to make Peppermint Play Dough play dough, especially since we just threw away the Pumpkin Pie Play Dough that we made a few weeks ago. All 3 kids and I enjoyed playing with it. Such a simple and fun family activity to break up the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season.

What You Need:

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 4 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 3 tablespoons peppermint extract
  • Red food coloring (we used an entire 0.3 oz vial)

What To Do:

Mix all ingredients together except the food coloring. Cook in a nonstick pan on low heat, stirring constantly until it pulls away from the pan. Remove from heat and stir in food coloring. Allow to cool for 20-30 mins. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Smells like a yummy candy cane! But don’t eat it. Yucky!

And so much fun to play with!!
